SPEAKER JUNKIES
FEATURED ARTIST/DJ:
I ended up going out last night to club Aura. It was ok for a Wednesday. I actually ran into some old friends thaqt I havent seen in a while. Sometimes its good to run into people you haven't seen in a while. However, the music was good ( DJ David D) and the people were enjoying themselves. The one thing that sucked ( for singles) To many males.
It's probably been over 10 yrs since I have seen a live electro band. I always wondered what happend to the live shows. I remember the shows being so much fun. The bands would get the crowd rocking making music right in front of you.
Right now Im helping restarted a live electric band MetaGalaxxy. However, in the mean time I found this group out of Huntington Beach California.
The band likes to express the fact that they are NOT DJs. They are recognized for performing trance music LIVE. They dont sit behind turntables, they play syths and drum machines. Who am I talking about? SPEAKER JUNKIES

The group started out doing little gigs here and there, but eventually got major exposure. With this exposure Speaker Junkies were able to be opening acts for Snoop Dogg at the House of Blues, Deepsky and Junkie XL at the Remix Magazine Hotel, and Sander Klienenberg and Darude just to name a few. Speaker Junkies were even featured at the Winter Music Conference New Artist Showcase, and at numerous venues in the U.S. and overseas. I hope to see them this year at WMC09.
IN Oct. 08' the band decided to incorporate vocalist Summer Daniels to the lineup.
Speaker Junkies just came out with a new Remix: Ultraviolet Sound. To download just go to Myspace Speaker Junkies

Prince
TUESDAY IS NEWS DAY
In The News: PRINCE

I thought Prince retired, or he was going to stop touring. Was all that just lies, or better yet was it a marketing ploy. You do know that Prince is a very clever marketer. Dont you remember how he was able to sell CDs, sell out concert venues. It was all because he knows the power of marketing.
In reality you just cant stop someone with that much talent. Can you name someone who has been in the game longer than Prince? Its 2009 and Prince is still in our ears. He is like Michael Jackson, but much more talented. Furthermore, he will get played on the radio everyday.
So what to expect from PRINCE in 2009!!!???
From some interviews Prince has done leads me to believe that he is coming out with not just one new CD but three self-released records. How does one have that much time to record three new records? I guess you need to be a prince...j/k..hahaha...
The first self-release record is "MPLSound" a old school electro-pop featuring now solo artist Q-Tip; the second "Lotus Flower" is mainly guitar driven and eclectic. Finally, the third record "Elixir" is a collaboration with Bria Valente. This collaboration has an R&B sound that can be heard here.

Natalia Mavrogianni
Features Artist: Natalia Mavrogianni

Don’t ask her to define it. Singer Natalia Mavrogianni debut album Natalia Mavrogianni reveals a sweet push-and-pull between countless elements of herself. The Australian who now lives in Athens Greece has been singing since the age of 14. Her songs are strong and sexy, blending the sounds of pop and electronica.
The album is called Natalia Mavrogianni. It crosses the barriers between ethnicities, genres, age groups, and genders. It’s got a sound that’s something old, yet something new. The album has three songs on it. However all three songs are quality that asserts itself in Natalia Mavrogianni own exuberant personality.
Natalia has done many world tours in the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Germany, Cyprus and also she has toured around the whole of Greece. She worked with a lot of Greek artists, such as: Giorgos Mazonakis, Elena Paparizou, Kostas Karafotis, Giorgos Alkaios.
Natalia Mavrogianni grew up in a music-filled house, she knew from the very beginning that music is what moves her. Her father, who shared his love for music, got her foot in the door played with Greek artist Giorgos Alkaios in Australia.
Now she can be found touring all over the world. Im sure we will see more of this raising star. To get her CD just Click Here
Natalia Mavrogianni "Mi me pedevis"
Natalia Mavrogianni "Moni"

In the Beginning There was Sound
WEDNESDAY IS FUN DAY
This first video describes the importance of sound. Furthermore, sound is what created the univers. In the beginning was the word and the word is sound. Have you ever noticed how sound can change your mood. One minute you can be in a bad mood, but once you put your favorite song on you get excited and happy. The Human body is made from sound. For example, have you ever played music when a baby is in the room? And what does the baby do? The baby will start to move and vibrate to the sound. How does a baby know to dance or to move to music(sound).
A magical word that follows in all grammatical categories. Can you guess the WORD?
This video is hella funny but yet it's true. I don't no how this guy was able to sit with a straight face reading this funny shit.
Some old school clips of Will Smith beat boxing
I'm not a big fan so Im trying to give LiL Wayne a second chance. I'm not sure why I dont like him? I mean some sonds are allright nothing to get hype about. I dont think he's the best rapper alive. Well maybe after listening to this I might gain a different respect for him.
I like track 6.

Barack H Obama President of the USA

Now that the 44th president of the United States has been sworn into office he has got to plan on getting this Nation back on track. We all hope that Barack Obama will restore our true values and keep us out of harms way. However, that would be too much to ask for. Furthermore, I think we have a long road ahead of us and without people changing the world wont change.
Today will go down in History as a black president takes office. I'm very honored and proud to be alive during this period and see the possibility that anything can be achieved.
This is a music song/video that Will .I .Am. put together will other celebrities

The Notorious B.I.G Movie
Martin Luther King Jr
Martin Luther King Jr needs no introduction. And if you dont no go pick up a book and read.
Lets take a closer look at Notorious, the life story of Christopher 'Biggie' Wallace. An epic story of how one person with a big dream can overcome just about any obstacles and achieve his goals. Through his raps, you get a close look at Notorious lifestyle. He never bragged about killing people nor was he ever proud to sell drugs. It was more about how one deals with life situations.
The movie Notorious decently did its justice, especially since Sean "Puffy" Combs was Executive Producer. It covers his stardom to fame what drove him to be the best and his downfall. I thought Jamal Woolard did a brilliant performance in this movie. He carried himself like the real BIGGIE witch made the movie touch home. The movie Notorious definably had its funny parts but also some very sad parts. So far Notorious debuted at No.4 over the weekend with more than $20 million in box office sales.
In Honor of Notorious B.I.G I've compiled a few Mashup Videos

Lawchair Generals
Featured Friday
What a great weekend we have in front of us. I just hope the weather stays the same. Thats right people, its mid January and its 75 degrees in California. I just love the SUN. I also love music and a good party so lets see whats poppin off this weekend.
This is what I recommend

Event: Soul Food w/ Lawnchair Generals
Date: Fri, Jan 16th
Venue: Mars Bar
DJs: Lawnchair Generals, Olivier Desmet, Elan, James K
Music: Chicago house, funky house
Cover: $10 b4 10pm
Mars Bar is a cool little bar that has an outside area for people to socialize and hangout. I've been to Mars Bar a few times. Every time I've gone I had a good experience. The People are cool plus they have a little dance floor. O did I mention the Bar tenders are very generous...(HI Anna Lee) I hope she still works at mars bar.
Why I'm so excited about this party? Lawnchair Generals
Lawnchair Generals come from Seattle but often plays in San Francisco. I always hear their music being played, also I have some of their tracks. Their sound is deep, yet jazzy also with a groovy bass line.
