Voyeur, A Lavish New Nightspot

Some people watch Eyes Wide Shut and decry the dark vision of depravity and alienation.
But you always thought the parties looked like a good time.
Welcome to Voyeur, a lavish new nightspot suggesting that highbrow elegance and a bit of S&M are not mutually exclusive. Gotta say, you couldn't agree more.
Behind dank casement windows salvaged from the original New York Times building, there awaits a dark lounge filled with corset-backed chairs and antique sofas made from bounced-against headboards. Lithe women fuss with their lingerie behind glass, maybe, or they really enjoy the sax from the stage. (You might also see a beauty doing stretches on the trapeze net above you—she must be hitting the gym later.)
Once settled at your table, they'll happily mix your drinks tableside—in shot or martini form—with fresh juice concoctions like Watermelon-Jalapeno and White Peach-Sage. You probably already had dinner, but if you want to fuel up for the dance floor in the back, you can wave over some Crispy Shrimp Rolls and Fontina-Chorizo Grilled-Cheese Sandwiches.
And far in the back, past the photo booth, apothecary bar and walls plastered in contact sheets from an illicit Mexico photo shoot, there's a private VIP room with a separate entrance and a giant chaise that could comfortably hold you and 10 beauties who appreciate furniture with well-placed handles…
And anybody else who likes to watch

50 Cent Wants to Give Kanye a Beat Down
I sure everyone has heard the drama that happend at the 2009 VMA awards. If not, in a quick story, Kanye West got on state after the young scarlet Taylor Swift won an award for best video and was saying how Beyonce's video was much better. However, like I said, people are going to choose sides and of course Kanye came out looking like a Fool. Furthermore, Taylor Swift appeared on The View to receive a call from Kanye West, who apologized for his rude outburst.
"Kanye did call me, and he was very sincere in his apology, and I accepted that apology," Swift told ABC News Radio.
What would happend if Kanye West took the mic and limelight for 50 Cent? Well, according to 50 Cent, that if West had taken away his award, he'd be getting a taste of a 50 Cent knuckle sandwich.
"I wish he would come take one of my awards so I could black his eye in front of everybody," he said on MuchOnDemand.
He added, "Even an apology can't replace what it feels like for the very first time receiving that award. In Taylor Swift's head, 'My first award was Kanye West.' It's damaging."

Kanye West Calls Out Taylor Swift At the 2009 VMA
"I always dreamed about what it would be like to win one of these one day," Taylor said with surprise. "I never thought it would happen." The 19-year-old star had said. However, Kanye interrupted by saying, Hey Taylor, I'm really happy for you, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."
Was this all Hype, was it planned, or is Kanye just an ass and wants to be in the center of everything. However, this wouldn't be the first time Kanye has done something to draw attention to himself. I wonder what Jay-Z thinks about this. I know this is going to get a lot of publicity in the media and people are going to choose sides. I can tell you right now Kanye West is going to look like an ass at the end of the day.

Heff Productions
To call Bad Boy Bill accomplished would be a bit of an understatement. Voted America’s Favorite DJ (BPM Magazine). Winner of URB’s Massy Poll. Co-founder of Beatport.com, the leader in electronic dance music downloads. That might be enough success for some, but not for this world-renowned DJ. With over two decades of DJing under his belt, Bad Boy Bill is ready to release his first full-length artist album.
Bad Boy Bill The Album (Nettwerk) packs a double punch: the impressive collaborators we anticipate from an industry vet (Duran Duran’s John Taylor; Alyssa Palmer; JJ Flores; Steve Smooth; Alex Peace), combined with unexpected self-aware lyrics and unique production that seamlessly weaves Bill’s electronic edge into rock, hip hop, and rap.
From start to finish, Bad Boy Bill The Album is everything you would hope for from a genre staple looking to shake things up: adventurous, experimental, fresh, and yet authentic with Bill’s signature electronic edge layered into every track. America’s Favorite DJ may just be America’s New Favorite Artist.

Tokyo brings the Mercenaree To Texas

There are many words to describe Tokyo, for example, a professional with an unquenchable thirst to create. Furthermore, Tokyo is also known as a father and husband, but many more know Tokyo as an artist, a poet, and a mentor to many of the people surrounding him. Tokyo more focused than ever has returned from several roadbumps and crossroads, after a long absence from the public eye, to do what comes natural to him, create music. And he is so very focused on delivering music that people can relate and dance to. Tokyo found shelter in various recording studios around his hometown of Madisonville, Texas . After years of recording and releasing independent tracks that were highly revered around the Southern United States, Tokyo can be heard and seen at Local clubs doing his thing.

Juan Martinez and LiveBPM
The reason Juan created this Blog is because he wanted to connect with, meet and network with other like minded people. Also, to update friends with lates mixes and gigs. Juan Martinez is Up Beat, innovative, and a crowd rocker. Juan Martinez is a veteran behind the decks, started DJing in 1998. He has a unique background in house, electro, deep house and hip-hop. Through hard work I’ve crafted a very versatile mixing style. Born in the Bay Area CA, Juan grew up loving music. Juan grew up listing to hip-hop oldies and freestyle. Later the San Francisco parties influenced Juan. I was inspired from some of the worlds best DJs. For example, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Mark Farina, Greg Lopez, and many more. Juan has always preferred an emotional connection with the audience. As for Juan, house music is a way of life; it’s an experience that moves the soul. Juan has a tour scheduled with some of the most respected DJs in the industry and I also have a new CD releasing in 2009. Also expect new releases from Juan's label LiveBPM Records.

Marbella The Next Spanish Oasis

This is a big nightlife story. Literally.
Huge, actually. The patio alone is 4000 square feet.
Welcome to Marbella, an enormous new Spanish nightclub and restaurant in the heart of Hollywood.
You probably remember the white honeycomb walls of Montmartre Lounge, with a Hollywood Boulevard address but a back-alley entrance off Highland. But now there's a new entrance—a covert valet off McCadden—and a new den of Spanish debauchery within.
Up the stone steps is an outdoor enclave, even bigger than before, dotted with trees, small tables and cabanas whose curtains blow gently in the evening breeze…under a towering apartment building currently being constructed. (Ah, Hollywood.) You'll probably want to start here for some sunset tapas—shellfish, cheese, sangria—before you head inside.
Which is where you'll find a heady swirl of brick ceilings, amber sconces, stocked bars and an LED-lit dance floor with plenty of VIP booths beyond. (Marbella, as if you didn't know, is a magical part of Spain where the rich put their riches toward the finer things in life. Booze. Wine. Girls who like booze and wine.)
It's private parties only for now, so keep a close eye on your usual stack of invites—or wrangle a blowout for 800 of your closest friends. Otherwise, expect the full-on public debut after Labor Day.
Go ahead, wear white.

Heath Ledger's Final Film
Heath Ledger was working on a film soon after Batman had finished. Heath was working of a film called Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. However, Heath Ledger never had the chance to finish due to a drug overdose.
The Director, Terry Gilliam, ended up casting three other actors to finish what Ledger started. Versions of his character in the fanciful film are also played by Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell. This appears to be a masterpiece by one of the most gifted film directors today...It feels like the kind of film that needs to be seen several times to get the full experience.

Annie Lennox's music
A video mashup retrospective of Annie Lennox's solo career, featuring:
"Why"
"Walking on Broken Glass"
"Little Bird"
"No More I Love You's"
"Waiting in Vain"
"Something So Right"
"Dark Road"
"Sing"
"Shining Light"
This is a very well done mashup of Annie Lennox's music. Annie has been on a spree of late promoting her latest record, The Annie Lennox Collection containing choice cuts from her solo career to date. The retrospective also includes two new songs that Lennox recorded specially for this collection.
The first, “Pattern of My Life,” was written by Tom Chaplin of Keane. The second is a cover of “Shining Light,” a song originally recorded by Ash in 2001. “I first discovered this song by Ash about six years ago, and I simply couldn’t stop listening to it. It’s so exultant that it virtually shimmers,” Annie Lennox says.
As a dedicated activist and campaigner, Annie Lennox works with numerous organisations, including Oxfam, Amnesty International, Comic Relief, and Greenpeace.

Gearing Up in Union Square

It's the most basic truth: when something is good, you want more.
Which is why you should know that your best source for vintage and indie designer threads just got a whole lot bigger. Welcome to the new Shotwell, tripled in size and ready to rock in the former home of Don Sherwood Golf & Tennis World (hopefully they left some golf pants behind).
Shotwell (named after the street where husband-and-wife shop owners, Holly and Michael, got their sartorial start) will continue to be your go-to for high-end designers, indie up-and-comers and well-curated selection of quality vintage looks (kind of like a downtown American Rag). Since they've got so much extra space to fill, you'll see that they've gone deeper into their existing collections and branched out with some new collections (like footwear from Opening Ceremony).
But you'll probably find yourself gravitating to the upstairs, fully stocked with clothes by up-and-coming indie designers from SF, LA and New York that you'll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Not to mention new favorites like YMC, Shades of Greige and Penfield, as well as sharp button-downs and ties from SF-based Gytha Mander that'll be equally comfortable at the office as at happy hour.
Which you know a little something about.

Jeno From San Francisco
JENO
After heading to San Francisco in the early 90's in search of a more psychedelic groove, he and several friends began the now legendary "Full Moon" parties. The friendly vibe and hedonistic atmosphere found at these free outdoor events attracted a large and diverse crowd of people, and set the tone for the future of the electronic dance music scene in Northern California. Inspired by the 60's drenched, jazz laden, funk driven and disco'd out sounds of San Francisco's past, Jeno along with the other "Wicked" dj's has helped define an eclectic and soulful musical style that was the original sound of San Francisco. His unique sound and superb mixing skills have gained him a following all over North America and parts of Europe. He has played alongside many of his favourite dj's including Louie Vega, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez, Stacy Pullen, DJ Pierre, Francois Kevorkian, Harvey, Kenny Hawkes and Chez Damier.
