Who's ready for a New Year? (Or at least a reason to party!!) I cant believe its already 2009. These last months flashed right before my eyes. 2009 is going to bring new music, better production and new venues with no sign of slowing down. This year I plan on going to Miami for WMC. LoveFestSF is a must, I've been to everyone and don't plan on missing any, I'm sure to check out new venues and explore other cities nightlife. However, 2008 was good. I finally got on Serato, Launched a few websites and my Girlfriend launched her Business. Time to start new memories with friends, family thru music and dance.

This Year I’m going to dedicate myself to bring the latest in Music, DJ's, Artist and Nightlife. My plan is to get everyone exposed to the underground/ Indie / Commercial scene. We will be breaking new music, artist DJs, and nightlife from all over the world.

World Music Awards 2008

Last night was the 20th annual World Music Awards. I didn't watch the whole show, however I did get to see a few acts. For example, I got to see Kate Ryan do her commercial song, and Madcon. I was blown away when they had DJs up for nomination. The winner was Laurent Wolf (No Stress) I thought she gave a great performance and well, Laurent Wolf kiknda just kicked beack behind the mixer acting like he was doing something(he did produce the beat). I didn't agree with Kid Rock winning Pop artist of the year.. i mean how can you be better than MJ. Unfortunatly I saw Alicia Keys on Mute..she looked good at least.

MONDAY MASHUP

Welcome back my friends to another week of the DonJuan Show. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I got to hang out with some friends that I haven't kicked it with in a while. Its always good to see old friends. Besides that I also watched UFC. Fools were getting knocked out. I guess Silva and Rampage Jackson was my favorite fight (knock out). They both showed skills and heart.

On Sunday, I went to Telegraph in Berkeley to do some walking around and shopping. I ended up going to Skills a record shop ( also promotes Skill party w/ Mars and Mystery) I stopped record shopping due to the price difference once I bought Serato. However, Skills is still surviving by selling Vinyl. They are just a hand full of records stores around the Bay Area. The reason I even wanted to go in was to see if the prices has dropped or if they came up with a new business model to keep up with Digital. Sure enough nothing had changed. Prices were still high and not to many people coming in.

We all heard last year how DJ Drama got arrested for producing and selling Mixtapes. The Cops busted ito his house and took it all. Since then, the mixtape went underground. So who showed up to the Mixtape Monday, only the brightest for example, 50 Cent, Nas, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, DJ Drama, T.I., even Katt Williams. Yes, finally back in the spotlight is 50 cent taking the Win for 08. I like 50 and cant wait to hear his new album drop. Im sure Dr. Dre will have some lyrics on his tracks.

Talib Kweli Exclusive

Well last night was fun. Again, I went to Aura a club down the street from my house. I had a few drinks, the music was good (Dj David D) but I woke up with a slight headache. Hopefully by today ill get some pictures that we took last night. So its Thursday witch means we should get to know an Artist/DJ.

Talib Kweli comes out of Brooklyn, with the backing of Black Star community. His style is very East Coast, full of education and sounds that appeal the ears. Jay-Z and 50 Cent named Talib one of their favorite rappers.

Talib Kweli released Ear Drum under his own label Blacksmith Music, making it his sixth album. This album is full of well thought lyrics and beats that keep your head bopping and feet tapping.

We are mid way threw the week and Christmas is right around the corner. I can’t wait for this weekend I have another Christmas party to attend. Furthermore, I’ll be going out tonight @ AURA it’s a nice club behind my house. Well let’s let the fun begin.

The first video is TV On The Radio-“Golden Age” Album Dear Science on Interscope Records. I guess this video was voted in top 25 videos for 2008.

First! The beat is kinda retro 80’s clash with some funk. I guess its one of those songs you need to hear a few times, then it grows on you. However, it does have a different sound. See I already like it more.

Second, the video has prancing cops, weird animal heads, and funky dancing on a mountain top cave. Just weird but funny.

You have to tune into DJ Skee radio show Monday night. Why you ask! Only because he is going to premier the new remix of Kardinal Offishall’s ‘Set It Off” with Dr. Dre droppping a few verses. Its been a long time waiting. I thought he was going to release Detox by 20008. I guess he never did… Maybe its because were in a recession and no one is really buying much. I mean it should be done by now, Right! I’m a big fan of Dre and I know when Detox drops it would have been worth the wait. Until then we still have this...

We are back from another weekend of relaxation. I kept it low key for the most part, but I did attend a Christmas party in The City (San Francisco). It was at the Pier Aquarium right by the Bay Bridge. I had a wonderful time. O ya! I got to pet a shark on his back with my finger. It felt kind of creepy. Well lets get this week started the right way.

First, Family Guy is probably one of the funniest cartoons on TV. They don’t really hold back. Although, at times they don’t really make any sense. Some people say that I look like Quagmire. GIGGITY GIGGITY …This is a mashup between Family Guy and SoldiaBoy. This song became very popular but for some reason, I really never liked it. I can’t understand what he is saying, and the dance move the superman... come on. I will say it has a good catchy beat.

His name is Anthony Hamilton. His sounds is soulful yet rich in life. He is known to give you an emotional ride threw his songwriting. However, in this CD, Anthony wants his fans to hear his growth.

Hamilton started his singing career at the age of 10 at his church and local events. Since then, he's had the honor of touring with Eve, D’ Angelo and many more.

Tuesday is News Day: In the Spotlight

We all heard about the tragic death that happened in front of Paula Abduls House about three weeks ago. Her obsessed fan Paula Goodspeed took her own life. Paula Goodspeed appeared on the FOX hit show American Idol season 5. Her strange appearance and her not so good vocals didn't advance her to the next round. As you can see on the video, the Judges didn’t hesitate to break her down.

Since then, Paula has had trouble sleeping and staying at her house.

"I've been staying in different homes and hotels, and I have security with me," she tells PEOPLE.

The police notified the producers shortly after the suicide, but Paula was not told until after she finished taping for the day.

"She had tried to do this before, and it was just heartbreaking ... It was in the middle of Hollywood week, and it happened while I was actually working at the Kodak Theatre, and it was devastating to hear."

WHAT IS PAULA SAYING NOW…

Paula Abdul is pointing fingers at the producers of the show for allowing the Paula Goodspeed to audition. Paula Abdul was no stranger to her stalker. Goodspeed had tried to make contact with the Idol judge for a few years. This was the reason she begged producers not to allow Goodspeed to audition. However, the producers turn a blind eye to it and let her audition.

Currently Paula Abdul is working on the new season of American Idol. Also, she is taping a new MTV reality cheerleading squad competition. Can you guess the name of this show? RAH! …… Great another reality show. The reality of reality shows is to get you sidetracked from the real reality that is happening in front of us everyday. Not only that, but Paula has a launch of her accessories line called Forever Your Girl, on HSN. Talking about planting the seed. It looks to me that all the people that I grew up with (on TV and music) are making a come back. Way to bring it back.

Michael Jackson Back in the Spotlight

This goes out to Michael Jackson and his true fans.  The King of Pop once again reached an out-of-court settlement with Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa for 4.7 million pounds.  Sheikh had invested  4.7 million into a recording deal that flopped.  

In good news, Michael is throwing a party for his older brother Jermaine who is turning 54 years old on December 11th.   I hope he doesn't start singing at the party.  That would actually be funny to see!  I wonder if Jermaine Dupree is showing up.
